Main thing I dislike about 5g63 DSMs is stated above and they dont handle very good with the exception of the EVO series.

OK, I can 100% talk about this because my best friend as a '99 GS-T. When riding in the gs-t, you don't feel that fast compared to the 951 at all, but they are quick. We got next to each other going about 20mph in second gear. Wanted to have a equal test, kind of. I gave the single to go, we both floor it. He pulls about 1/2 a car ahead of me, JUST enough to see the backside but not the bumper. After that, we just run though the gears. When I was at the end of 2nd, I was pulling up to him. When we hit bumper to bumper even, hit 3rd gear and just pulled and pulled. He shutdown around 90 or so and I was about 5 car lenghts ahead of him.
Now for the mods to each car.
ME: Guru chip set 15psi (reli-boost, chips), Tial 38mm Wastegate
HIM: After market exhaust, unknown chips or boost increase but he is running about 11psi because of aftermarket gauge.

I wouldn't be so hasty with numbers without knowing what he/she has done to the DSM. I know a guy who ran 11's in his daily driver, and there are pleny more even less than that. Didn't that one guy just break into the 8's? Obviously don't expect such insanity, but they have the potential to be pretty darn quick.
Could be a 14 second Eclipse, could be a 10 second Eclipse, who knows. No point in predictions, grab a video camera and get 'er done

i raced a evo a couple of weekends ago for a roll and i beat the guy horribly. I was only running 13psi too. later on that night race a couple of dsm's with some mods and tore them apart too. Till this day i haven't lost but i have a couple really fast cars that are waiting for me. a 12.2 talon is wanting to race me and 12.7 civic hatch. we will see the outcome.

The EVO as it is known here is a 4WD 2lt turbo and I know at least half a dozen that are on the low side of 1's in their 60ft time. These are pretty weight reduced and modded cars though. I guess for a street going version you are looking at late 1's

Turbo Eagle Talons, Mitsubishi Eclipses, and Plymouth Lasers are all the same car. The AWD version ran ~15.0 seconds in the quarter mile bone stock, but modified the skies are the limit. Cheap to buy, cheap to maintain, and cheap to modify.
Using only pumpgas (no race gas, no laughing gas) and ON STREET TIRES and a full interior, I ran 11.91 with my modified 1997 Talon. 60' time was 1.626 seconds, which is what wins streetlight-to-streetlight races.

Unfortunately, the vast majority of younger car owners don't know jack about their cars and suffer from severe rectal-cranial inversion. If any modified car owner (Mustang, Civic, Talon, Camaro, Viper, you name it) starts making claims to me about their car's abilities, I never believe it until I see it with my own eyes.

In fact, very wrong. Talons/Eclipses/Lasers have a factory top speed (power limited, not gear limited) of 158 mph I think, very near to the 951. Depending on where the rev-limiter it set (7200 stock but most guys rev to 8500 on stock motors) you can expect 1st gear is good to 30 mph, 2nd up to 60-70 mph, 3rd to 110-120 mph, 4th to 140-150, and top out 5th near 170-180 with enough boost.

You know what pisses me off more than anything? When someone posts completely inaccurate information as if they know what the hell they're talking about. If you don't know, don't fricking assume anything. I know it's tough but just keep quiet and don't say anything if you don't have anything intelligent & knowledgeable to say.

My son and I went and test drove a talon TSI turbo when he was car shoping. Drove my 951 (at the time it was totally stock) to see the car and it would blow the doors off the Talon. He wanted a turbo car real bad at the time but was not impressed with the Talon at all.

Ofcourse maybe my turbo comment could of been off but,...hey its a k26 housing and until I hit the dyno who the hell really knows.
