Default Removing relay

Seems simple but not for me. I am trying to remove relay #1 for the fan, however no matter how hard I pull -- it does not come out. What I am doing wrong ?

I am a little apprehensive to force out with a pliers as the relay is good, but want to disengage the fan until I replace the thermo switch as the fan runs continuously. Think removing relay is better than disconnecting battery until repair is done. TIA.

Rock it side to side gently and it will slowly ease out.
