According to the manual, the clutch pushrod should be 147mm from the center of the pin to the firewall. I cut a pencil 147mm long and it seems that my measurement is 10mm more.
What I don't understand is:
If the clutch pushrod is allways under pressure (no play) and against the stop that holds the "cruise switch", what difference will it make to shorten the rod? I'm assuming it will just go back up to the stop, and if it dosen't, it won't "make" the cruise switch.
I have the seat out now, and if I need to adjust this, now's the time.
I avoid driving this car because I can't for the life of me, get used to the high pedal. I've had this thing for 5 years and I've put 2K miles on it. I have this habit of pushing the clutch pedal till it stops. My 911 starts to grab just off the floor and is much easier to drive.
I just want to get the pedal to grab lower.....make sense?

For 968 stuff, it's best to either:
(1) Check the forums (or post at) http://www.968.net/
OR
(2) Post in the 968 forum here (although you'll probably be advised of (1) above))
Hope to see you there!

When I was adjusting the push rod on my clutch pedal, I just was trying to make sure that the pedal went back far enough to push the ignition kill button. Otherwise you can start the car without pushing in the clutch.

OK, thats what that switch is for!!
Opps, come to think of it, I can start my car without pushing in the clutch. I allways push in the clutch out of habit (72 911) but didn't notice it till today with the seat out.........I thought it was for Cuise Control.

Yeah, I think it does both. I remember in the 951 that we could start the car without the clutch pushed in when we got it. With some adjusting it worked out fine after that. The cruise had issues though also in that car and worked better with the pedal adjusted.
