Hey guys...
If I were to have a 944 engine and a poor lil' 944 that is in dire need of a heart transplant, would anyone be interested in coming to Front Royal this month to enjoy some beers, enjoy some food, enjoy Rennlist company and swap a motor?
It's not a set-in-stone plan yet, but I want to see how many people would be interested in coming over for it. I for one think we could top the Ohio 914 engine swapping party
Who's with me?

Where is front royal? Also depending on when I may be able to help. I have exams for the next two weeks but two weeks from today I am FREE. I have done several engine pulls and a swap so I would be happy to help and may even be useful... We could definetly top those Ohio boys and their teener... I mean were going to be swapping 2.5L engines that makes it at least .5 more difficult right?

I'm in the same boat - December is a tough month to find free time.
This would be great for me because I'm dropping the lump out of my 951 in Jan for a headgasket/rod bearing/waterpump, belts and rollers refresh. Would be great to see a master at work, Kevin.

Azn is spot on for it... Chrissy is plain wrong (hahaha, "I kid! I kid!")... and the swap won't be done.
I was going to buy two parts cars on eBay. The auction was for an '85 that was great except for a toasted motor and a '88 that had a great motor and many interior/body parts that I could part out, but was in a rear-end collision. Both in the same auction, in my area. I even had a truck and help to load them up (I was going to work on getting a trailer from buddies).
The first bid (no reserve, btw) was $850, and held until the last minute of the auction when I put my bid it. In under 60 seconds it went from $850 up to $1525. I wasn't going past $1100, but that's ok. I'll keep my eyes out for more eBay deals

i maybe but december is kinda of a rough month with plans and family time around xmas
i'd be interested in giving a helping hand as i will be contemplating the option of picking up an ole n/a motor and rebuilding it and swapping it into the car or just pulling the motor and rebuilding it over several weeks
how about the first weekend in january, 2005?
i'm also in herndon, va so about 1 hour from front royal (used to go to the apple orchards - the boondocks)

I'm up for any swaps in the area (and any other Rennlist meets... right Tony?
) and as long as I'm free, I'll be there.
jaja, I grew up in Herndon. My family moved out when our backyard turned into the final link of the parkway by HHS.

I'd be up for something too. I will be pulling the 2.8L out of my red car at some point over my winter break. If no one else has anything I'm sure I could host something.
