Exclamation A Note From The Admin - PLEASE READ

When you signed up for this forum, you agreed to "play by the rules". This forum has rules. If you do not like the rules, you are welcome to find another forum whose rules are more to your liking.

If you feel it's "lame" that your *off-topic* post has been moved, you can do one of 3 things:
1) post topics that are relevant to the forum in which you have posted
2) post the topic in the Off-Topic forum
or
3) you are welcome to stop posting on this forum.

If you don’t like someone or want to have an argument with them, take it off the forum. Use a PM, AIM, or email. I don’t want to hear it and no one else does either.

Posts with flaming, trolling, etc will be edited or deleted from now on. If you don’t like it, don’t do it.

If you post a thread with the title "Attn: So-and-so" it will be locked regardless of content. Once it gets pushed past the first page or after 24 hours (whichever comes first), it will then be deleted.
If you need to address a specific person, please use a PM, email, or AIM.

No profanity in posts, subject lines, or signatures. It’s not that hard to follow this rule.

No linking or posting of pornographic or objectionable material. This one will get you banned.

Do not discuss, suggest, engage, or encourage any illegal activity on the forums. Linking to locations that deal with any such activity is forbidden.

Posting under secondary user names or alias user names other than your main account for the purpose of arguing, degrading or belittling other readers will also result in being banned.

A car forum like Rennlist is not the place to post personal problems, questions about personal relationships, etc. There is an off topic forum here. If you are not a member and cannot access the OT forum then maybe no one really cares to hear it anyway.

Pete, Viken, Randy, John B., Bill, Jen, Arjan, Bob, John D. and all the Moderators are old. We are cantankerous. We have no sense of humor. We have no salary nor job description. And - we have no life since Moderating/Administering Rennlist. Therefore - we ask that you restrain yourselves - so we can regain some semblance of a sense of humor, a life and become almost "normal people" again. Even without pay. In short – we’d like Rennlist to become a “job” we enjoy – and less so an adventure.

and all the Moderators are old.
Maybe it's time for some "young" mods, no?

You guys do a great job in all seriousness.

Pete, I agree with 99.99% except for the following passage. There are a few times on the board where someone's PM is full and therefore it's difficult to track them down even by email. I know this takes up space sometimes but then again it does have some relevance. Please just consider this. Thanks for the work you and the other's do.

I understand your point but if someone tries to send a message to a full PM box, the system does send a message that "so and so tried to send a pm, please clean your inbox".
By locking the post and leaving it up that person may see it, empty his box, and reply. I'd be happy to leave it up longer if the poster would delete it themself after making contact but it's usually forgotten and then I get an email from someone saying "What is this? So and So's personal message board?"

I'm just trying to grease the squeaky wheels.

Travis I'll make you a deal -- if I ever become mod I'll ban you. Hahaha.

I think I've inhaled way WAY too much bondo/paint powder. I did have a mask and all... but sheeshh...

I even surprised myself. It ain't perfect, but it was better then what was there:

Sorry for the small pic, was from my cell phone.

Just for clarification, does this mean we aren't allowed to discuss a spirited run up to triple digits on a deserted highway or an acceleration comparison between consenting alleged adults? How about catalytic converter removal? Where do we draw that line?

If so,... well..

That would suck.

I'm not looking forward to the day somebody responds to my tale of enjoying a agressive on-ramp with a comment about not being allowed to post that and "RTFM".

Dan,
Don't worry about it. No one pays attention to Pete anyway...
