Squeaky clutch -- how do you quiet it down?

Did you replace the pilot-bearing at the end of the crank? Typically squeaking/squealing with the clutch pedal up is a throw-out bearing. You can verify by slightly pushing in the pedal and the sound stops. But if the sound starts as you step down on the clutch pedal and gets worse at the bottom, that's the pilot-bearing. Either one of those bearings going bad would mean a clutch job anyway.
