I'd personally say the paint is definitely better than fair. The paint itself is in pretty good shape. It does have a few issues and those should be addressed with James, but if I were buying it I'd absolutely call the paint much better than fair.

That's an independent observation.

My favorite color by far.. early car.. well maintained AND a Rennlister.. The annoying side strips already removed and a turbo valance...

Man I need to find a quick 3 grand...

Um - $4K+ is a bit closer to what you need to ask for it. You could get that w/o even trying hard.

Edit: maybe he meant offers starting at $3K, like, "Let's start the bidding at $3K" At least, I hope so. If not, I'll have to buy it for $3K and figure out how to get it to the west coast.

wow, I consider mine worth high 3's - 4k And yours looks quite a bit nicer, what with the decent paint and nice wheels. Dont let that go for under4-4.5k MAYBE even 5k. (if you find a stupid high school kid and tell him its a Porsche)

I have seen and worked on James's car. It is probably the nicest all round early car I have seen (excluding Damians totally redone car).

The interior is new, carpeting, seats, etc. It has a dash pad but it is not bad.

Seats are the sport variety with a little something taken off of them. Comfortable to me and easier to get in and out.

Tires are new, wheels are take offs.

Ball joints, control arms, motor mounts are less than one year (and knowing James, less than 2K miles old).

Paint is fair. It is a 25 footer. This is a respray done without a lot of attention to detail by PO. Still very passable for a driver.

In short this car was a nightmare he got taken on. James has spent a fortune and too much time making it a nice car. I can vouch for the amount of money he has spent on it. This is now a very nice car. I am sure he is selling because he bought another one and I know he is in the middle of a move.

This is probably the best 3K dollar 944 available.

If you have it spare, grab it.

Thanks for the kind words.

Yeah, you would think it could bring 4000 - 4500, but there are 944's here in Houston going for 2500. I listed it in autotrader @ 4950,,,not a call, not 1 !!

The car has got issues. Power steering disconected, sunroof is manual operation only, hood shocks work some of the time, carpet, while brand new, is not a "perfect" fit in the rear hatch area. These are all things that "average Joe" looking at a 20 year old car notice, not repairs and maint items.

I don't want to deal with ebay, and I sure don't want to offend anyone on the board by starting an "online auction" for the car. I thought I'd throw out the 3000 and see what happened (BTW that is what I paid for the car 2 years ago)

As has been stated, I'm moving, I have bought another 944 and I want to get a boat for the new house. I have found "THE" boat, what I "NEED" out of this car to purchase it is....4150.00 If the best I can do is 3000, then I guess that means I'll have to "find" 1150 somewhere else. As an added bonus, if a Rennlister buys it @ 4150.00 I will throw in the manual rack with the intermediate shaft needed to convert it to a "real" manual steering car.

Here is a pic of the interior. Shot tonight, not the best quality.

Wow..the interior does look sweet! I hope you get what you're looking for...it will give me some hope for dumping what I need to dump into mine to get it to look as nice as that !!

Good luck with the move/boat/sale!!

Joe
