1984 944 For Sale

Let me clarify a bit about the paint. James listed it as fair and Matt did as well. I think it's above fair. It has attention to detail issues as Matt said, and a couple of others. But it's generally nice, shines well, and as Matt said, from 25' it's nice. Most cars I'd list as fair paint wouldn't even look good at 25', but you be the judge. I think this car is much better than average for what James wants.

I have to chime in here. James, I think that car is worth much more than 3K or even 4K. Not even considering what you put into it, I really think 5K is not unreasonable. Sure the car has some minor "quirks" like the disconnected power steering, but I think you could get more. Heck if you like, I'll drive it back and forth from work and home with a "for sale" sign in it. I'll park it out in front of the store where you'll get some traffic. I CAN make both your's and mine fit in the garage for safe keeping at night.

Sounds good to me Kevin.
I've already got the "for sale" signs. I've been putting it out here in Kingwood and on 1960
I've got defensive driving school till about 4:00 today.
Todays added bonus: Included with the car,,,,Used Haynes Manual, Spare DME relay, Factory Shop Manual on CD and extra latches to convert sunroof to full manual...

I vouch for the car as well. Heck - James even drives it! Unlike someone I know (me)! It's a VERY nice car for $3k. Actually, it's an OUTSTANDING BARGIN at $3k.
James - I know you know what a new house does to the budget - if we had not just moved ourselves I'd be all over this in a heartbeat!

I do not know the market for a car that is this "clean" in Texas, but in Portland Oregon you could easily pull 4500.00 to 6000.00. Trust me, it took me 2 months to find TWO 944 in my area (an 85.5 and an 84) both were in the 4000.00 range, and they were not as nice as yours. I ended up paying 4120.00 for mine, a sweet red 84 944 with 118k miles, but it needs what you have done already and I am no "stupid high school kid. It would be WAY WORTH your while to post on Autotrader.com or even try Ebay.

James, I'll give you a call in the AM. I am off on Monday. Tuesday I have to take my father's car to work with me to replace a power steering pump. 60K miles Buick Century and the ps pump is whining like a school girl, pulley is wobbling all over the place. I can start taking it on Wednesday.

Dang James - I'm not sure I'd want something that cheap that wasn't broken. What would I do with it - I already have a garage queen. Which I drove today I might add!
