Ship them general post office. Four Fuchs with tires, ground cost about $85. Just cover rims with cardboard or box the rims.

I've had good luck wiht some large items (not wheels) as well through the post office, their rates are pretty good on things that are within their limits.

They give you a nasty look when you try to hand them something that big and heavy over the counter though.

I have to ship a set as well. Just leave the tires on the whhels and cover the wheels with cardboard? Wow, sounds too easy

Yes it really is that easy. One thing, be sure to deflate the tires enough so they don't bounce around.

well it looks as if I am taking a trip. I need to use some vacation and we have some friends in New York. It can be a dual purpose trip. MichelleJD is your rim shipment heading torwards the east coast? I may be able to help with shipping . If your in north central IL and I am south central WI it could be a piece of cake. LOL

Hey thanks unsigned! Unfortunately the only angle you will get to see them at is when I'm drifting through the next corner in front of you. LOL Did you get you shirt yet?

i just bought a pair of 16x8 design 90s with tires from kelly moss. $50 for shipping.

i've always used the cardboard taped to the rim approach. works well.

i second the advice to STAY AWAY from mailboxes etc. they will rip you off.

I work only 1 block from Kelly Moss. My wife has told me "Why don't you go to kelly Moss to see if they have any rims for sale!" I should of listened to her.

I shipped a set of rims and tires, just as Jerad said here. It cost about $20/rim including $250 of insurance per wheel. That was via USPS.

Has anybody out there tried Greyhound? After UPS broke mirrors twice I had Greyhound take them and it was just fine. Only problem is you would have to go down to the nearest bus terminal to pick it up. But the guy said they are trying to make some money doing freight and I think it would be at least worth checking into. If you decide to do this, let us know what you find out.
