Interesting about the blanket "crappy alloy" statement. I've bent two cookie cutters due to road hazards. I've had Mille Miglia 993 Cups on for over 2 years and haven't bent one yet and that's with a 40 series tire. MM makes several OEM wheels for Porsche. I don't think it's as much the alloy as the casting method that makes up the biggest difference in weight.

I would jump on that set of Fuchs, but I want to get away from painted wheels. I have a Copenhagen Blue car and I (personally) don't like the look of black wheels on it. I want to go with a polished or alloy wheel.

Do replicas have a problem with air leaks or being too soft? Are they heavier b/c they are made out of a stronger material? Does the weight make that much difference? I plan on Autox for DE, but not really to compete.
Since you have an early offset car, Fuchs, being forged, are IMHO the best wheel out there. If you don't like paint, you could always go with a polished set (photo attached is of Carl Nall's car).

(I purposefully was looking for an 85.5 or 86 944 because I wanted to be able to use fuchs).

Fuchs are among my fav wheels as well, but the ones with a nice lip are far too expensive. This is why i switched over to a set of enkei wheels. The rear lip is larger than that on 911 fuchs 9's. Oh, and i only paid about 10% of the fuchs cost @ $200.

Cup/c2/twist wheels look a lot better than 6&7 fuchs. The 6's have a smaller black center diameter due to the nearly vertical lip and look kinda ugly.

If anyone is looking for a set of 951 fuchs, I am going to unload my set:

I have 2 16x7" fuchs and 1 16x8" fuchs. 951 part numbers. The other 16x8 is cracked and unusable. I'm making a glass top coffee table out of it.

They are all Silver /w clear coat with some minor rock chips on each wheel. No bends or curb rash on the wheels as far as I know of.

All the wheels now have new Falken Ziex tyres on them. over 95% tread left. I really like these tyres for rainy Vancouver. Excellent water dissapation, doesn't track the road much, not a lot of sidewall flex either.

I'm asking:

16x7 /w tyres: $250usd each
16x8 /w tyres: $350usd each

16x7 no tyres: $200usd each
16x8 no tyres: $300usd each

Why such a difference between them and the fuchs? 200 bucks for a set or per wheel?

17" FRH C2 reps (Cup 2's) that have been discontinued. If you are in the market for reps though, you can find some on E-bay or from tirerack.com They carry Mille Miglia reps.

I don't think you will see too many sets of decent CC's going for $200...all the auto-X guys are buying them up. I've been looking for over 4 months just for 2 of them. Their price has gone up considerably in the last year. I'd pay $100 for 2 good ones!

I'll look around here for some more. I bought a pair of 16X8 Fuchs for $60 and I also bought a full set set of CC's for $100. I stripped them and repainted then and now they look brand new!

Geeze, my slicks look good on Fuchs rims!
