Pete - did you use the Recaro rails or do your own. Did you gain any headroom over stock? Loose any etc..?

Hacker, I have Corbeau TRS seats and I used the Corbeau brackets and sliders. I did gain headroom but I'm short so that wasn't a big deal.

I need about an inch of headroom in my 928. I have the factory sport - non power - seats already. They sit pretty low. What seats were in your car stock?

8 way power standard leather seats.

This pic shows how low the "butt pocket" is on the Corbeaus.

There are shots in my gallery of Corbeau TRS in an 84 interior:

Hacker, I have a Recaro SRD which is the older version of the Speed. It is a great seat. IMO, all sports cars should just have these seats stock (or Corbeaus or Sparcos like it). It was my driver's seat until I got a fixed back seat for the driver and moved it to the passenger seat.

I would estimate that it lowers maybe 1-2" from the stock seat I had on the passenger side. My fixed back Recaro is probably another 1-2" lower than the SRD. It should give you the headroom you need.

I should have mentioned the 928 sport seats are Recaro's (I'm assuming the 944 sports seats are as well?) - no power. So I wonder if a new Recaro will bolt in the same place or is the frame special to a Porsche?

Oh well, I need the 5-point holes anyway so here goes a few more hundred $$$.

Recaro made all the 911/944/928 seats. I think they still do.
The aftermarket Recaros will need a new bracket/slider though. The factory stuff wont bolt up unless you fab some sort of adapter and that will end up raising the seat height.

Yes, I believe Recaro is the OEM supplier. I just wish that Recaro would supply porsche with Speed/SRD seats wrapped in leather!
