Nobody hurt, other than feelings. They were way out in the country and NO houses, water, anything anywhere. No hope to stop the fire. Imagine standing there watching it burn for 15 minutes until the fire truck arrives, helpless.

I can't imagine it.

Sorry for the confusion, I'm sure Brian will appreciate the support (not Cuz) he lurks here a lot, but rarely posts. He was the guy who arranged the Gulfstream photo shoot.

Dan, that is terrible. Makes me want to go and buy a fire extinguisher today, because at least you could do something to fight the flames. Standing there and watching it burn to the ground would ba horrible feeling. I am just glad that everyone is okay, although loosing a car almost feels like loosing a child... I'm sure he will find another!

Yep. Those are the polished CS's in the pics, can't you tell?
He was also the lucky recipient of a Saratoga top at Fest '02.

No, the top was not in the car when it burned. (Don't ya'll start
hounding him for the top just yet. I'm sure he'll make it available when he is ready.)

Damn.... Good reminder for me to eliminate those hose clamps on my fuel line over the top of the engine this winter... Hope he gets a good amount back from insurance, but nothing can be enough to replace the effort and memories of your car when somethingl iek that happens.

Imagine if this happened to me.. i only have liability. I would watch it burn, have nothing to part out.. and it would simply be all down the drain. Be hard for me to get back into another 944 with an empty bank account...

Jeez Dan, you had me ready to cry! I'm happy it wasn't your car and sad for your friend at the same time.
This is a sad day. A moment of silence please...
