Steve they came with 245/45R16 GY Eagle ZR45s (commonly known as Gatorbacks), IIRC, orginally. There are no good commercially available wider tires than that at this point. You could grab a set of 255/50R16s that were orginally for Corvettes but they look like balloons. The last option is a 265/45R16 in one of the Kumho variants (700/710).
Tire sizing is one reason the 16" and now 17" markets are dead/dying. FWIW, I have seen the tires on the wheels and they fit just fine though the recommended rim width does not go to 10".

You need to leave those on, I never thought they would look that good on there!

I thought they would look really out of place but they dont. Dump those original GYs and you would be ready to go. We can grab some S-03s tonight!
BTW, you have PM.

Thanks for the photos. The way the lip extends on the rears is "exactly what I have to avoid". When the tire section width is smaller (9.8") than the rim + another inch for the rolled lip every curb becomes a problem. My wife needs to park downtown sometimes; high curbs + bad parallel parking=seriously pissed husband. Unless a decent 16" tire wider than 245 shows up to fill those rear wheels out I would be better off with the 17's and 275-40 Fuzions I was planning to get through Matt. There really isn't an option other than Victoracers or Hoosiers and that's out for sure. Those BBS are just too pretty for track use but that might be where they end up. I'll keep looking for tire info.
God, those look so good on your car too.

Steve, you could go with a tire measured in flotation 28X10X16 for instance. I just dont think you are going to find a good street tire.
What is incredibly ironic is that the "look" no one wants is best for performance. Everyone wants the tires to be super wide on the wheel which is not good for handling. I know, it doesnt look that great (though I actually like it alot), but since when do looks matter. If I wanted a pretty car, I would have built a bug!
