Steph, how much is CHEAP? 200 bucks? Make you an offer over 50 dollars? Does it run at all.

No thanks.I am getting into my early style Porsche.I would like to see others on here that have the 70's 924 and what they have done with them.I figure the euro conversion wouldent be too hard at all and it will bring out the favorable results lookwise in my 924.I just need to find a wing now.

No offense, but these kinds of comments dont help. Do you ever say "buy a camaro SS" whenever someone asks about making their 951 a bit faster. Besides, how does a 924 correlate to a 944 turbo? Wouldn't a 931 be the logical answer? In the words of the great dimitry "A 924 IS NOT A 944."

Often times, you can appreciate a car more when you put your sweat and blood into it. I for example, bought a 500 dollar 944... The amount of money I've put into it, i could have bought a nicer looking 944 with less miles. Any regrets? Hell no.

Well, hey, the world would be a whole lot more boring place than it already is if everyone took the easiest way out... but I do agree that turbocharging your current car is not worth it. Sure it could be done - any internal combustion engine can be turbocharged - just a matter of time and money. But you'd be far better off buying a 931. Yes, they are harder to find, and more expensive, but not much (I've got two, and could have twice as many if I had any idea where to put them all). The question to ask is not CAN I, but SHOULD I?

There's another problem. You haven't hardly even gotten your NA running, yet you're ready to tackle the complexity of a turbo? I think not. There's a whole lot more to learn before you're ready to take that step - and I mean even handling fixing a stock 931. They're so much more complex, and you can't get away with half-fast fixes like you can on a 924. You do it right or you damage the car. The margin for error is much reduced.

Focus on getting what you have working right, for now, and worry about a turbo in 2-3 years when there's nothing you can do to the NA to make it better. There's plenty to be done in the meantime.

you know, there was a guy on here that put 2 turbos on his 924 a while back. Maybe you could get in contact with him about the details. From what people had said... the car was FAST!!! Raced and won against all kinds of F-150s and dumptrucks. Do a search for user "AMAF" and it will bring up a welth of information about his twin turbo 924.

once you get your car running reliably there is an easy way to turbocharge a 924 NA. BAE made kits way back in the day and they occaisionally pop up on ebay. The last time one popped up on ebay a 924.org member picked it up and he was going to use it as a template to build kits and sell them. I have no idea how far that has come but he seemed pretty gung ho about 924 stuff so it's probably worth a shot going over the 924.org and doing a search for bae turbo and figuring out who it was and how far the project has come along. Good luck.

Travis,

Your sarcasm was out of line, especially for a site sponsor. The last time I looked this was still the 924/944/968 forum. It's amazing how many 944 owners are negative about the 924 even though their body style is just a heavy steel version of the 924 GT and their motor is a lightweight version of the 928.

You couldn't find anything? Try looking for doing this to a 944. It makes even less sense on a 924.

This kit will never be made. That guy will come to his senses eventually.

I was not making fun of the 924. Indeed, I owned an 80 until just a little while ago.
What I was poking at was an old member that went by the name of AMAF... He used to race dumptrucks and F-150s with his "twin turbo 924." Maybe if you did a search for post by him before you got pissed and started defending the 924 model you would have gotten the joke.

Why is everyone so **** on here lately. Must be the season.
