A technique I use when covering to get rid of the fibre glass weave and to fill quickly, is to mix lamenating resin into bodyfiller. Basically diluting the body filler to a brush on mix. It means you can cover it all in one go fast, sand and give it another coat. Then final fill/sand.

J Chen, I'll post some pics of my car, it's the original LM3V - yse, it's metallic, just not quite as deep without the pearl. It's an awesome color.

a little trick most people don't know about carbonfiber is that if it does get scratched its easily repairable just by a light sanding and skim coat of uv-resisant epoxy. preferably a gel coat or sealer. though you have to go over the entire surface otherwise you'll get a line. and about kevlar and carbon/kevlar, yes it is stronger but way more flexible and very hard to cut. kevlar is easy to form and "droops" into shape very well, but the flexibility can cause cracking if you don't reinforce it right. you can use it just as a top layer over fiberglass just for looks too.

oh and as for your fiberwerks bumber, TarHeel. not our design. it may fit but this is molded strickly for damian's car. we are thinking after this we'll see how everyone likes it and then make a couple three piece ones that will universally fit the N/A's.

Thumbs up

Nice work DAmian! Can't wait to see the final results. I'm thinking that the tan colored foam is resin proof. You might "borrow" a small piece to try.

Gives hope for us 924S guys that may want a splitter... I'd love to get more air into the grille down there.

I believe the 993 was "Arena Red" which was lighter. LM3V was only available on the 84. Most of the later variants are a little lighter red except Marachino red.

Hey Lead Foot,
How about molding it out of rubber like the rear
spoilers. That way it'll last much longer. I can't
recall the name but there is a 2 part compound
product which can use to make spoilers.

Any chance that I could talk that adjustable spoiler into "chillin" at my house?
