If you are doing a male mold (laying the fabric over the foam plug), then you will need a lot of resin/gelcoat to fill the weave... followed by a lot of sanding to get a smooth surface on the outside. I'd save the carbon for once you have a female mold. I know resin weight isn't a big concern on this project, but the cosmetic aspect is what I'm mostly thinking about.

I am sure this has already been suggested, but would you ever be able to make a copy of your wing, that is adjustable? You already have the trim pieces and spoiler, so if you could make molds of those, and cut the spoiler and insert some brackets where it would be adjustable. Just a thought, as I am sure a ton of Rennlisters would buy this setup. All of the other companies out there charge over a grand for this, and some of them do not even carry them anymore. We know you do solid work, just by looking at your car, so it is just a thought. Sorry again if it has already been suggested.

Damian.
by looking at the pictures it looks like 2 peices of foam layed on top of each other.
I know it's not done and everything...but the finished product will be a little shapier(not block looking) than that wont it?

Ok...First the adjustable 968RS spoiler...If I could ever get off my *** and start my own shop like I have dreamed of, that would not be a problem..Especially since I also have a 968RS adjustable chillin in my basement...I just decided to use the non-adjustable on my car....But again if all works out like i have hoped then I dont even know where this all can go..! But I do know that Im on the right rack to make something happen very soon I hope...!
ANd as far as the overall shape...Yes it will be more rounded when complete and not appear so BOXY in shape.....I hope....And yes it is 2 pieces of foam glued together...The final mold will be made out of a 2inch thick piece, where as this time we used 1 inch thick foam...We werent exactly sure on our first try, so we figured that the 1 inch thick stuff would of been easier to play with at first...and if we did need more then an inch thick we could just glue it together like we did....

Hi Lead Foot,
Without the pearl, is the color metallic ? Have never
seen this color before, suites the shape of the 944
very well. Gives it a sense of sophistication & class.
Great taste my friend.
