Default Need advice desperatly!

Ive (finally) found the car for me. Its an 87S with 102K, black on black leather.
It has a sunroof, stock reno radio, no alarm, cruise control, or rear wiper though.
The Good: The paint is in average condition, could really use a nice waxing. The seats have no tears, the carpet looks like what you would expect for a 18 year old car with 102,000 miles on the clock. I had it looked at by a shop and they said it was mechanically a-ok. The belts, chain tensioner, chain, etc were replaced about 20K ago. Clutch replaced around 90K.
The Bad: The dash however, is VERY cracked and peeling in some places. The luggage cover wont retract back up so its just kinda laying there lifeless. There are a couple random dings and light scratches, but nothing requiring repair.

My question is whats a fair price. The car is owned by the origional owner, a guy in his late 60s and he just doesnt want it anymore. The only research hes done is look up the Blue Book value which is like 2700 and knows thats way low and he might as well keep it if thats all he can get for it. Im not looking to pull one over on him so I wanna know what you guys think is right for this car.

3500-5000ish. If close to perfect, it may go more toward 6000 at highest.

Check the cars.com site and you'll get a range. Expect to spend 3500 +/- 1500 dependent upon condition. Blue book NADA is a joke, as is Kelley. extremely low values there.

Got to look at ebay these days. Good chance he will. There's 2 87S's on there right now ~$3K@150K, ~5K@83K.

I would go for $3500. Thats a fair price for that car. Even at 4 even it would be a good buy.
The bad parts of the car would be common on almost every 944 you look at. Cargo covers never retract and dashes always crack. Its the way of life for the 944.

Haha, live with it... I do.

I use one of those dash mats. I think it looks better than the old dash anyway.
