Looks like it will have to be tomorrow morning if you want to beat the snow - 3 to 5 inches expected by Saturday. Welcome to Massachusetts.

Yup, it's snowing. But maybe we can go for a snow drive... I haven't even changed to snow tires yet... Anybody change their tires yet this season? And if so, what do you prefer? It's my first winter in the Porsche... Thanks--Chase

Hey Boston Crew: since a few of you are on this thread, any good stretches of road you recommend to drive? Twisties? And where do you take the car for maintenance when it's no longer DIY?

I take my Benz to Hatch and Sons and they do work on Porsches too - www.hatchandsons.com

however, they are on the pricey side - but I think their work is first rate.

However, I bought my 944 Turbo from the owner of European Car Doctors - call him at 617-262-5525

These guys are mentioned a lot for work in my area. I have only been to Autobahn Performance and was satisfied with the service. They had more 944's there than any other type including a couple of racer cars. I hear Exotech is also good with 944's. A number of the Northeast Region PCA members bring their 944 track cars there.

Autobahn Performance, 134R Newbury Street, Route 1 South, Peabody, MA 01960 USA

AutoSport Engineering, 370 Hudson Road, Stow, MA 01775, 800-356-9146

Eurotech Advanced Automotive, 14 Grant Street, Framingham, Massachusetts 01701, 508-879-9911

Exotech, 9 Newton Road, Plaistow, New Hampshire 03865, 603-382-3599

Hey Holson and Tj Breen: thanks for your recommendations. Did you guys switch to snow tires yet? If so, any recommendations? This past weekend caught me by surprise! Thanks... Chase

Thanks for the recommendations tjbreen, I'll be sure to give Autobahn performance a call if I need something.

BTW, my 951 still has some Pirelli Cinturato P7s on them....apparently been out of production for a while - they are supposed to be all-seasons though so we'll see

BTW, one more recommendation -- I used Randolph Racing (www.ranrace.com) in Stoughton for my work. I've been very pleased with the results (and the owner, Kevin, is cheap on labor). One added bonus is that you can just take the commuter train to Stoughton to get to/from downtown Boston after having dropped off your car.

I personally would stay away from Randolph Racing for 944 work, I had some seriously bad results with them (probably contributed to why the 86 is dead among other shotty work they did on it).
For all other Porsche's they seem to know their stuff though especially 911's.
I have a 951 in transit to me now id be up for meeting up!

Zack

P.S.
Other people on this board saw the work RanRace did on my car and couldnt believe it either... :-(

Zack: where would you recommend going? A friend told me to go to European Performance Engineering in Natick... I actually need to get my Speedometer fixed... any suggestions?
