Does anyone else think that sounds too good to be true? What do you think of the 924 Turbo, nice to drive? fast? reliable?

Bad link, my friend.

Im assuming its for a 931 ad. Well, lets see... Theyre not much faster than a 944 stock, theyre not nearly as reliable (turbo rebuild every 30k or so, and a plethora of other problems), theyre not worth it for a student.

Ah sorry... I'll copy and paste the AD. Asking price is only $1800 dollars, car is a 1980 924 turbo, looks very clean in the pictures.

"This is a smooth driving low milelage car, (90K) it was originally from Calif. has been stored every winter in Minnesota. It has many new parts: Motor rebuild, New Tires, Exhaust system, Heater hoses. It has normal dings and scratches for a car of this age, but has no body damage and has never been in a accident. This is a drivers car and performs perfectly. This car has been adult driven and all receipts for mechanical work are available. Call for more detail."

Do you have any pics of it?

I understand these cars are a PITA as far as maintenance goes....wonder if the PO is sick of it and selling for a good price? Or....it's not in as good of shape as he claims....

Here's my experience with 924 turbos: PO of the 931 kept all receipts: $37,000 spent from 1980 'til 1996, 104,000 miles, three turbo replacements. I drove it for 2 years (one year as a winter car) and put a clutch slave cylinder and timing belt in, that's it. It took me 6 months to sell it for 2 grand and it was in near perfect (I'm not kidding) condition inside and out. I probably got lucky nothing else ever broke for me, but at least you don't have to worry about smashing valves.
