Haha, it will be a daily driver once I can get that pesky registration thing and the leaks taken care of. Right now it has inspection stickers that expired in 12/01 on because I'm still waiting on some papers to come in. Then I'll be off to the DPS for new plates and window sticker. And the car will not leak any oil, coolant, or anything and all will be good and peaceful in the world!

As you pump the tester you will feel resistance. As the resistance just starts to build look in that general area and you will see coolant leak out.
Ok, great. Hopefully I'll actually be able to see where it's coming from. It's hard to get a good view over there unless the front end is raised up so my ramps might come along.

FWIW- my 924S sat on the lot for 8 months waiting to be sold. the first owner mothballed it for 4 years then I bought it. Been running from the sun ever since.

There is a reason.

Mine was sitting for a different reason - the previous owner blew the timing belt, fixed it without following any instructions, and blew it again the 1st time he cranked the engine. After the car sat for 2 1/2 years he got tired of looking at it and he sold it cheap to get it out of there. You can't tell it sat from looking at it except for the dash. As soon as I can get these last few things taken care of it'll be a daily driver at least a couple days/week.

I gotta tell ya- the 924S is a great daily, but I do 11 hills and 17 curves in less than 6 miles daily now. The long drives between Springfield and Chicago are over. It's all smiles.

Just got back from Auto Zone. I pumped it up to about 10psi and waited a couple minutes. Sure enough I saw the leak, a really small one up on the oil cooler seal. Looks like it follows the seal down and drips down from the bolt head. I wouldn't have found it without the pressure tester.

Looks like I know what I'll be working on this weekend... the car is already up on the ramps.

BTW. The bolt you are looking at is the Oil Pressure Relief Valve. When you get it on the road, take a trip east to Houston. It would be great to meet more 'listers.

Good to know... I'm getting ready to order the parts later. Right now I would trust the car to get me around San Antonio but it'll be a little while before I'd try and take it out of town. There are some other things that need attention before too long, and of course the whole papers thing. If I didn't grow up around the PO and know him as well as I do, I'd be a little worried about that. He's disorganized to say the least.

Steve, if you need the pressure tester or other tools in the future Autozone will loan them to you by charging your credit card for their value and then return the whole amount when you bring them back witin a few days.
