Variocam requires DOHC (varies valve timing by modulating chain tension in the chain connecting camshafts). Are there any 16V turbos, then?

You guys should post over on the 968 boards if you want to know more about these cars. Raj Datta has built a 968 Turbo RS clone using mostly authentic parts and knows WAY more about these cars than is probably healthy, and is always happy to talk about them.

From what i have read the 968 turbo RS is the single overhead cam motor with 337hp with the restrictor plate, they say if it was removed its supposed to make a little over 450hp. The 968 turbo S is the DOHC motor not sure on numbers but i do have a link for a 968 turbo RS for sale not sure if it is still for sale though(PS it is in the US so legalizing it might not be that hard but i beleive it is a track only car)[http://www.968.net/classifieds/classifieds.htm] it is the one right at the top

That car is the freak. As Sir Peter said I would take the 305hp rating with a grain of salt. In fact all Porsches seem to be lowballed about 3-5% from the factory in terms of output and performance numbers. Porsche engineers have the worst 0-60 times in the world for our cars.

Check out his new C-GT on page 2...you guessed it - its silver too!
Ha, I have met Amir in person a couple times when I held a job at the Porsche dealership, quite a nice guy. That 993 TT he has is damn nice.

No, all the 968 turbos were SOHC motors.

Honda's Vtec works off a dual profile cam and actually varies the cam to pulley alignment. as was said before the vario cam of the 968 onlyvaries the intake cam timing Via the chain tensioner.

I wonder if that goof ball would consider giving "joy rides" to paying customers? lol

I'm still jealous, Jason...

So Jason is the car a track only car or is it legal to drive on the streets? That monster on the streets would be crazy.
