Yeah mine does shudder. As soon as i release the gas it gives one quick shudder before it begins the smooth deceleration. It also does it sometimes when i get on the gas from non-throttle cruising.

I also did a nice transmission friendly launch. I like how the car pulls from 20-120 better anyway.

Tony, mine had that shudder really bad and it's completely gone now. The chip was worth it for that alone.

Oh crap...i have an issue here! Assuming these are Weltmeister CLONES, the weltmeister site states that the chips for an S2 are only for, "944S2 1989-July 1990." All 944S2s built in Porsche's next year (Porsches years go from August - July) apparently have something different in their computer system and the chips wont work! Sounds like BS to me, so i called them up. They guy insisted that a July 1990 S2 would be different than a September 1990 car! So my S2 falls after that!! Do i have a different computer chip setup in my car??? What is going on?

Pete, you must've have been REALLY easy on the launch. My '88 N/A with about the same amount of weight in it posted similar numbers on my G-Tech. My best run was a 7.3s 0-60, with my average around 7.8s. Only engine mod is the Autothority Chip. And the car has around 200K miles on it.

Blue S2, if your exhaust sounds as mean as my SFR on an 8V, I'd like to hear it on a 16V. I've wanted to do an FRWilk chip on the 84 for a while, and I wonder how loud that exhaust would be on mine with a chip....hmmmm....

Bret, yours are the numbers i like to hear. The yellow N/a beat a 7.4 0-60 car to 60...

Steve R sells a chip that he calls Weltmeister clones..I imagine this chip is similar. You definately feel the difference. I spent $130 on it a while back...$25...damn! The exhaust note is a little bit raspier due to the increased timing. Improved power between 3 and 4k rpms, and it revs more freely above 4k now.

Rev limiter on my chip gets bumped up to 7k, so yours might be the same. I e-mailed the guy back and forth discussing how safe 7k is on this engine and he insists that he's been building motors using 7k for a while and has never had any issues with it. The S2 has all the updated baffles and things in the oil pan to help the #2 bearing, but primarily he said running it up to 7k in a long left hand turn is the only problem other 944s usually have. I haven't taken it over 6500 more than 2 or 3 times though since I've had the chip. He says it limits it to 7k, but I'm not going to try and confirm that on a 165k mile motor

I don't have a G-tech before the chip but we played with one after (going pretty easy on the clutch) and pulled 6.6 seconds and 6.7 with a rollbar, harnesses, and a 170 lb passenger. I mighta gotten a couple extra tenths with a harder launch but it's not worth what it does to the clutch to see those numbers. Unless you drag the car what matters is the power above 20 mph
