hi

great car and another 944s owner

i also have a 944s but noticed you have the battery in the engine compartment

it just might be that mine is a right hand drive car [UK CAR] but i have the battery in the boot [ which i must say is not the best place for it as you need a strong battery for starting as the cables run the length of the car]

sweet, another S car!!

congrats on the purchase. i noticed it looks like you have 16" wheels? is that the sport suspension? check the options to see if it has M030.

also, i'm rebuilding my S right now, and have a ton of pictures - check the link in my signature.

good luck

Congradulations-that car looks pristine. It looks like it has just about every option too, great find.

I was just wondering how much you paid for it, as I am looking for the perfect S to make my baby.

As long as we are sharing engine pics, here is my "S" - 114,000 on it:

Hey, you have the highly coveted INV87 option (invisible engine block)!? Excellent!

joseph, once our cars are on the road again, we are planning a road trip to meet up. I'm thinking Lawrence Kansas - more driving for me but if we did meet in the middle, that would be Nebraska or Iowa - no thanks.

Thanks, and yes they are 16", but my suspension isn't M030 .
Good luck with your rebuilt. What was the mileage when the cam chain tensioner failed?

I did an even trade for my 2003 sunfire (5spd, no A/C, basic model, with 45k).

Congrats on the car, and welcome to the obsession. You will want to get to know Frank at Porschapart in Rexdale. Also you will want to check out the road from Minden to Haliburton Village to Bancroft. Then you will understand. Good luck.

Yeah, I know those roads. I drove there before, but I was driving a Grand Voyager , and a nice 993 TT flew by me, i mean he was doing 160-170 km/h easy.
Thanks for the info, do they have a web site?

I've also got a "surviving" S with 158,000 miles, an original clutch and it doesn't burn any oil.
Make sure to change the cam chain tensioner pad eventually, it's cheap insurance. You only have 61,00 miles on yours so there's probably no big rush (some recommend changing the entire tensioner).

I'd add a license plate as your first upgrade!

Personally, I prefer them stock, except for performance upgrades.

Save your money for belts, cam chain and tensioner, and get it done before next week.

Did you get a PPI?

I didn't do a PPI, but i'm a car mechanic and I know what to look at before buying a car. So far car needs wheel bearings, and all the fluids changed, and of course belts.
