Default Transmision Question

How do you tell if the transmision is going bad? What are the symptoms?

Can you be a bit more specific? Like, what is making you think it's going bad, noise, jumping out of gear, hard shifting?

it has jumped out of gear twice now... driving along and hit a bump.. and the car sputters and starts jerking a little.. some times it dies afterwards.. sometimes not.. Shifting isnt a problem though. There is also some grinding noise in the back as im starting to accelerate at low speeds.

Hmm... There are three things that come to mind. Transaxle, clutch, and the coupling between the torque tube and the transaxle (splined, can fail). Sorry, but it probably requires a trip to the shop to start poking through the options. Hey, could be something less severe. Just tossing out my guesses.

Hope this helps.
