the ones you want are often on eBay for about $250 a set:

it just looks like a piece of glass with a light behind it to me... seems like any clear piece of glass and some lights from pepboys would work? no reason to pay $500 for fog lights.

You can get the euro lens/reflector inserts for less than $500. I would recommend that verses the pep-boys route. There are about a total of 2 cars on rennlist that have custom set-ups that look good, the rest look like poo-poo to the tenth power.

(wow, this is an old thread that was resurrected)

can anyone set me straight as to the different parts required for a single fog light on a 944 turbo?

seems like there is the box that sits behind it, the reflector, the light, then the clear cover (lense?)

?

Below is a complete 951 foglight assembly:

It is made up of two parts. The housing (the greyish part) and the lens/reflector combo. When replacing the lens, you get the whole lens/reflector combo. You normally don't get the housing. A complete set of new 951 fog lens/reflectors is usually around 250 for the pair. But if you have to order them with the housing it can get expensive.

I modded the fog lights on my n/a as well. Took off the hood that shrouds the bulb. Used 100w bulbs, and put on new lenses. Doesnt seem to bother oncoming drivers after i adjusted them down a bit. I drive with only those lights a lot, they work very well. Police havn't even bothered me about the lights being below the legal height for headlights.
