Default Mixed use - preferred kit?

Hey Travis,

I'm not in immediate need to rebuild ball joints yet, but I do have a little play on stock (rebuilt?) arms/joints on my semi-track car ('89 951).

My question: What's the disadvantage of the track (solid) kit over the regular kit? I already have Delrin a-arm bushings, will it cause a noticeable stiffer ride like those did? Is there any risk in running these on a car that sees some street duty and is driven to the track?

Thanks!
Oliver

I guess I should make that a little clearer on our website. The new kits are the only solution for a track car but are an excellent upgrade for any street driven 944. The bronze bushings do not offer any stiffer ride nor will they prematurely wear any of the other suspension components.
For a street car they are a permanent solution to the problem of loose ball joints. Replace them once and they will be tight indefinitely.
The only thing we recommend different with the track kits is that you grease them regularly. With the included lower plates w/ zerk fittings this only takes a few minutes. You just slide under the car with a grease gun, give them a few pumps and your good to go. We recommend greasing the track kits every few months just to make sure they stay nice and lubricated.

Default Thanks!

Cool - I just thought I'd ask, in case there was something I overlooked. At $25 more then the "deluxe" kit (at least with the 2-day sale price), it would be silly not to go with the "Track Kit" then. Thanks - off to order!

Hey Oliver! Way cool to see you here!

Trav, I sent you a paypal, but haven't gotten a receipt from them yet, did you get it or do I need to follow up with them?

Yo Scott - unfamiliar territory here for me . . .

Not to sound like an OCD case, but - didcha notice that shipping is $8.50 for one and $20.50 for two kits? :0 I need to order one for Karl and one for myself, that's how I noticed . . . .

Wondering if I should just get three kits and keep one on the shelf for when the Cab needs it. Overthinking again.

Sorry about that. The auto shipping calculator gets away from itself sometimes on the site. I had better readjust that a little. In the mean time if you want to place an order for more than one kit you can give me a ring or just fax it in with a visa or mastercard number.

Nah, no problem . . . I was just amused by that. No need to waste your time, we need you to go build cool parts - not hassle with web stuff.

Good to see you here, O. FWIW, I just got done rebuilding the arms on my 951, and dealing with Rennbay was super, even ordering from Europe. The results are fantastic.

Yeah, Travis Rocks is a great guy! lol I've gotten other stuff from him and the service is as good as you'd ever want.

Oliver, you really need to spend more time here. You'd fit right in, black nail polish and all!

Hey, sh944, shhhh! I'm not sure if nail polish will still be legal, there might have been a referendum on it . . . .

Nice set. I just ordered a set... something else to throw into the "upgrade bin" when the time comes... (my 951 only has 25K miles on it... :-) )
