Will these fit the 10 speaker under arm rest speaker panel I have? I am pretty sure the 5.25 will, but not sure about the 3's.

the 160 and 100 refer to cone diameter in mm for mb quart components. that would make those speakers 6.5" and 4". 5.25" would be 130, and i have not seen a 3-way component system that uses a 3" as opposed to a 4" mid component.
unless you just want to close up the 3" hole with some plastic (not a bad idea if you're using a high powered 5.25 component), many companies do still produce 3.5" coaxial speakers that you can incorporate with a little dremeling.
if i were reconfiguring the stock 10-speaker system myself, i'd leave out any coaxials - seal up those 3" holes, 5.25 components front, 6.5 components rear, and ditch the spare tire for couple amps and a 10" subwoofer. so, a 9-speaker system.

You mean 5.25 in the under arm rest panel... and 4*6 in the door panel up front?
I have 4*6 all round and some pioneer flush tweeters in the door panels so far. Sound like this guy is full of it on the auction.

i didn't think 10-speaker cars had a 4x6 up front . . . i thought front was tweeter, 3", and 5.25" with the mids under the armrest. perhaps, that's just the 968 that does not include the awful 4x6's.
if want good 4x6's make sure you use plate speakers which have a separate tweeter and circular mid-woofer. jbl makes a good 2-way 4x6 plate "p6452" which comes with an external crossover. they also make a good 2-way 6.5 "p652" with an external crossover which you could use as your rears (instead of more 4x6's, as the 6.5 hole is already cut out). with this combination you would not need to add 5.25's up front. two pairs of external crossover components is plenty.
the auction guy probably just "eyeball-ed" the dimensions.

Hi,
I don't know about the rest of your system, but I'm a serious audio nut and getting some great sound using the stock 10 speaker setup. I spent my money on the KLA subwoofer, a blaupunkt amp, a bunch of dynamat, new hatch and sunroof seals, some simple crossover modifications and some labor to make it all happen.
You can't get any bass from the front speakers (two small and no cavity for them to fire into) and those 5.25' are mounted in a horrible position so I question whether spending any time with them will give you a truly noticable improvement at all. The rest of the stock system will work fine unless its damaged. Sure, in a perfect world I'd install a high fidelity tweeter and some other tweeks, but its a car... and its kind of loud so all the intricate nuances that one pursues at the outer limits of audio are difficult to justify. In a newer Lexus, Lincoln, BMW etc the outer limits make more sense because you are starting with a much quiter environment.
If you don't have a sub, that should happen first as it not only gets you some bass, but gives you other options to crossover the other speakers at higher levels to clean up the midrange and reduce the load on your front amp.
Don't get too caught up in the "I need new speakers" game. There is a lot more to good sound than the speakers and great speakers poorly installed will not get you where you want to go either.
There have been several lengthy and good posts over the last couple of months on sound deadening, subwoofers and audio modifications here on the list so take a good look at those. Several of these posts contain some excellent photos as well and a few of the posts are very specific to the ten speaker option.
Feel free to email me privately too.
Cheers,
Phil

NZ - when I get home I'll post my MB Quart front 10 speaker setup that I used - works great, and I even fit the X-over where the factory xover used to be (with a couple mild modifications and a mounting plate)...sound is phenomenal - with factory rear speakers, just the MB Quarts in the front, and a single 10" in the rear with only the Pyle 10" driven off of an old Punch 45 amp, the sound was comparable to some MB and Bentley upgraded sound systems I've dealt with here at work and the Quart clarity is spectacular...
