Default Drivers Side Door Handle Needed

Hey guys... My drivers side door handle quit working, so I took it off today and it is broken so I need a new one. I checked pelican parts and paragon and the price for a new one one is way more than i can afford to spend for a door handle right now. Does anyone have a driver side door handle they would be willing to part with for a good price??

What part of the door handle broke? if its the little arm on the inside that hangs down (w/ the ball socket on the end), you can buy a replacement for much cheaper than the cost of replacing the entire door handle... I know some of the online stores have it, and if not, i know PartsHeaven sells them (and ships worldwide).

search for 944 door handle on ebay and you'll find the part. I think I payed $24.99 fro mine. It's easy to fix too.

Did yours break where the rod attaches to the handle. I've been through 2 of them in 6 months on my 83. The piviot hole broke at the casting on both of them. You're lucky if all you need is the rod. Easy fix though. On the early cars you can use a passenger side handle (much, much cheaper at salvage) and swap over the finger lever from the drivers side handle by driving out the mounting pin holding the lever. This won't work on the later Porsche script handles.

Mine broke at the place where the actual part you pull attaches to the rode that goes down. the cast piece actually broke

Did the upper hole break at the same place as in this pic? I'm still trying to find out what causes this. I think the rod end has to be adjusted so that you can't pull the finger lever too far.

I know this is a really bad picture, the part that is circled is what broke.. specifically the part that the little **** on the end of the pull goes into to trigger the latch.
