Default Blowing DME fuse, need to fix quickly

After removing and reinstalling the DME on my 87S today I started blowing DME fuses. First it would start once then blow, no second start. Then I drove it for about 30 min. shutoff in the middle and restarted. NowIt's blowing the fuse WITH THE IGNITION OFF..

Ideas anyone? and naturally I have to go to work right now.

OK, after I unscrewed the dme from its mount to the body and it's laying on the floor not grounded to the body it's not blowing fuses and got me to work Saturday.

Ideas?

bad grounds?? maybe a power transistor is going as welll.

Not blowing fuses without a direct ground- maybe an interior ground bundle need some cleaning attention.

clean off grounds and apply dog snot, uh, I mean dielectric grease..

There must be a short somewhere around the DME of it started right after you took it out. Why did you take it out?

I bought my son a non-running 924S and was under the mistaken impression that the DMEs would interchange. I have been testing some of his questionable parts on my car.

I have screwed it back into place and now it seems to be done blowing fuses.
