Default Replacing Throttle Cable - Tips?

I broke my throttle cable and am in the process of replacing it. I'm looking for some tips doing the following:

1. removing the old cable from the gas pedal linkage
2. Fishing it through the firewall

Does the cable just pry off the gas pedal linkage and the new one snaps back on? or is there something more to it? Anyone have a recommeded tool (other than a big screwdriver)?

How do you get it snapped back on in such a confined space? Pliers? or can it be done by hand.

Finally, is there a trick to feeding it through the firewall, or is it just a matter of jamming it through with a little patience.

Thanks in advance!

Matt
