And yours actually work Keith

If someone was to bind the pdf version, would it be illegal to sell such a thing on ebay - if you could show that it had been for personal use only?

Only if you want Hans and Fritz of Stuttgart fame bankrupting you with legal fees within a year. Very risky IMHO. Even if your "legal" copy was for personal use you are still seeking finacial gain from a copyrighted product. It would be the same as saying that Halo2 game you just bought was for personal use when you bought it but are now selling copies. Now, if you were to "give" them away with no personal gain you would just be guilty of causing financial loss to the holder of the original rights. Either why the rats will come after you I think.

Lol, you guys are worried about selling stuff on ebay?? Tell me thats a joke. There are so many scammers on ebay, who NEVER get caught. Think porsche would bother over 20 bucks you made off their material? Please.

I've seen auctions pulled by eBay for the 944 manuals before. I suspect Porsche gave them some grief.

I did it myself using a self-service microfiche reader/printer at the San Diego State U. library. $.10 a page, and a lot of time.
