Question Can you estimate my car's power? Thx

Hi,

I just modded my car with Tial WG, Guru chip and 3" cat back exhaust. I'm running at 15psi now, how much HP should i get for these mods.

Thanks,
Jim

If I had to guess I would say about 290 hp at the crank. I am sure others with more experience tuning these cars will chime in with a more precise answer.

Why not just go to a dyno and find out?

After those "mods" $100 for a few dyno pulls should not put you over budget.

If it is a K26/8 then maybe, but if it is a K26/6 I highly doubt that. That would mean he was pushing close to 140 crank hp more than a stock car, and believe me, a chip, exhaust, and wastegate does not add that much power.

Jim's car is an 88 Turbo - non-S, so K26/6. But he has LSD and no sunroof!

Where are you located?
Us SoCal guys are arranging a group dyno day (3 runs, and a/f for $55).
Check the turbo board for more details..

I'll guess 240rwhp.

I say we make it a game. The closest guess (verified by the dyno visit) wins a photo of their car on the Rennlist cover.....

Let's call John D.
