Default 944 Cold Start Porblem

There are way to many post to go through in a decent amount of time so I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned.

I have an '87 944. When ever the engine is cold I get a real rough start. Sometimes my engine shuts off. Usually if I don't apply any throttle the engine revs itself some. It seems the engine isn't getting a rich enough mixture to the engine. Once the engine is running it runs great, very nice idle, lots of power. When I shut off the engine and lets say leave the car for a few hours, the engine cools down some, but when I start it again it starts fine and runs fine. It is just that rough start when I start the car in the morning or let the car sit for a few days.

Any ideas on what I can do?

I am assuming that you have spark, since the car runs eventually. So, i am suspecting two things:

1) Fuel Pressure Regulator
2) Fuel Pump Check Valve

Both cases depressurise the fuel system, Clark's Garage also has some tips regarding this:

Sounds like a promising lead. You have clean oil correct?

Replacing the idle stabilizer with new intake gaskets should fix your cold starting problems.

Already checked the idle stabilizer about 2 months ago. Didn't fix it. I changed the oil recently and the problem was there before I changed the oil. I use 20W50 durablend oil. Thanks for the help. I think the next time my car is up on jacks when I do the timing belts I'll also check those things.
