I need to repaint my car sometime soon and I'm looking for a semi unique color. The car was originally a Guards Red car that somone had maaco paint black, so as you all probably know its not the best paint job. I plan on doing it right if I decide on anything other than guards, so the other color coming through won't be a problem.
Now to the purpose of this thread Does anyone have pictures of a 996 Cobalt Blue 944, an Arena Red 944, or a Riviera Blue 944???
Any pics will be greatly appreciated!!
Chad

Here is a link to an Arena Red 944-
944 thread
By "996 Cobalt 944" do you mean the NEW cobalt blue?? My car is cobalt blue, and you can view my gallery from my signature. The NEW Coablt is virtually the same color, but it doesnt change to purple in light. It has more blue metal flake and seems to be the slightest shade darker in normal light. I havent seen or heard of anyone repainting their cars to the new Cobalt Blue, and theres only a handful or two actual Cobalt 944s out there to begin with. Its a unique color for sure!
I have pictures ... of everything else... let me dig them up...

Another unique color Porsche offered was Turqoise Metallic, also known as Tahoe Blue or something like that. I believe it was only offered in the UK for a year or two. They seem to have the most blue Porsches produced!

I really like Cobalt Blue, both old and new, I think I like the new a little better though because it is a little darker. I know a body shop who does an excellent job with difficult colors. I am leaning toward Arena Red or Cobalt Blue..

If you get a blue, i would highly recommend getting clearmasked too. All the blues chip to white, and its ultra visible and touching up Cobalt metallic will never look right. There is too much variation in the paint. The new Cobalt seems to have gotten a lot more popular. Even seen a Cayenne that had it special ordered! (maybe its something to do with out the purple color shift...)
Arena red is an awesome color too! There is a picture of an Arena red 996-Targa on the Porsche website from overhead with a grey background that is just amazing! It shows it off perfectly!
Oh...another option since you like Arena Red... have you seen Zyclam Pearl Effect? It was also a 1 year 944 color that shifts colors. Its a little darker than Arena red, but its really stunning!
