Is spray caliper paint available at most auto stores? Good point about brake dust cleaner...I would hate to paint and ruin it with wheel cleaner the following week!

I'm pretty sure you can get them just about anywher. Both Duplicolor and VHT make versions in different colors. I had painted my rear hats with high temp paint and then when I installed new front rotors, decided to hit the backs with brake cleaner to freshen em up, it ate through some of the paint and rust is starting to show up, so I'll be starting over again. Fortunately I did a really good cleaning and sanding job on my stock calipers, and hit them with gloss black caliper paint and finished them off with high temp porsche decals and they still look sweet.

Steel wool (0) and sanded hats (150) first.
Small can of Aluminum colored Rustoleum enamel paint
Painted 2 coats by brush. Avoid rotor screws in order to preserve the ability to remove them if necessary.
I have read this method is quite durable. As with any refinishing job.....the most important part is THE PREP....remove as much rust and and grime as possible and remove all the dust prior to painting.
Next: Calipers (as you can see...they need help). Also on line is new suspension, getting original rims powder coating as we speak. Thanks for having me over on the 924/931/944/951/968 Forum!! AK
