Hatch light operation?

Hatch light operation?
Does your hatch light come on when you open the hatch with the doors closed? I just noticed that my hatch light only comes on with the doors open. It will not come on with the hatch open and does not turn on when I push the switch to the opposite position.....

My hatch light and the front interior light both come on if i open just the hatch (or the doors). The switch is in the hatch struts . Does your alarm go off if you open the hatch? - if not something is up with the switch - probably a loose wire.

No alarm installed......
