Who in PA/NJ wants to make money doing my retension?
The only catch is that you have to be within a reasonable distance (within 2 hour drive) of the Lehigh Valley, PA. Or you can come to my place if you want. You must have done multiple belt tensionings in the past. You must have the Porsche 9201 tool.
I will be ready for the retension in about 2 weeks.
In return I will see how this done first hand so I am able to do this myself in the future.
Thanks!

I'm not closer, but would love to drop by and watch/pay for retension too!
I'm in the Phily area, but would love to participate, split the cost with you.

hey,
ive done many of these belt changes, and tension adjustments. I work full time at a Porsche shop, and do this kind of work all the time, and i LOVE doing side work for cash. Im located in Northern NJ. I have the tensioning tool, and everything else for this job. let me know if you need a hand. I also am seeing/dating a girl who goes to college at Lehigh, im not sure if thats near you at all, but if it is I am in that area on the weekends sometimes.
Hope i can help

My friend said okay, and I am due for a retension pretty soon (about 500 miles). A GTG is okay with me, but I can't travel far from Macungie (I have a young son and a wife who works full time). I would be willing to host a GTG at my place...
As to compensation, that's up to you. I drink Piel's.

A GTG would be great. I'm down. Pick a date and then we can work out the details.
Spyderman, I'm around 25 miles north of Lehigh U. off of Rt 33. I'll definitely keep you in mind in case this GTG doesn't happen or for other work that comes up.

StoogeMoe...are you up near Cherry Valley Vineyards?
I'm gonna venture a guess as to a date...November 13 or 20. Let me check with the wife to be sure she is not on call those days. We can work at my place, asphalt driveway, 2 car garage, 8 jackstands, floor jack, many tools.

Yeah, I'm about 4 miles from the vineyard on the other side of 33.
I would opt for the earlier date, or sooner if possible. I'm at the 1000 mile mark now and put on about 400 miles per week. I think you're supposed to do the retension somewhere around the 1500-2000 mile mark. I could always drive my truck instead, but that thing is such a gas hog.
I have all the tools except the Porsche specialty tools. I have a real nice torque wrench which I can bring. It sounds like you have all the stuff we'll need, but if you can think of anything, let me know.
Did you say you drink Piel's? Are you sure you wouldn't want a case of Yuengling? Or some imported beer from Shangy's? I'll bring anything you want.

Yuengling? Yuck. My wife is from Minersville (Pottsville), that's all they drink up there. Piel's is my beer, I prefer pounders
How about Oct 31? I'll try to clear it, but many of my weekends are shot to begin with.

Ok, cool. I guess just PM or email everyone directions, contact numbers, etc. as we get closer to the date.
Let's hope it's a decent day. No snow!
