Default Leather crack!

First crack in the seat leather! I'm freaking!

My seats are only half leather. Ie. the bolsters, the outside and back is leather, but the inside part is just some fabric stuff. Was redone by the PO.

This one crack annoys me.. grr. I want perfect seats! Anything I can do? Maybe to prevent more cracks or something?

Condition them often! Lexol makes some good stuff. Although meguires is also very good, at 1/3 of the cost. Cover them up too...the sun is evil. You can stitch up leather, but itll look crappy usually. As a general rule, leather is not repairable.

I had the leather seats in my RX-7 Convertable recovered. They were able to do just the bolsters that were cracked. Cost me $250 per seat. Now keep in mind, this wasn't the whole seat, just the bolsters that were replaced. The local upholstery shop did a great job in matching the leather. Take it to a local guy and get an estimate. And the Lexol or the Meguires will keep them soft and keep them from cracking. I do mine every few weeks. Both products seem to brind out that new leather smell as well. One word of warning. If you have perforated leather seats use the spray Meguires. They make a creame, but it tends to get stuck in all of the little holes. Real PINA to get it out.

I'll be sure to condition them more in the future!

Luckily the crack is very inconspicious. It's on the inside edge of the left butt bolster (or whatever u call that). Actually the only reason why I noticed was cause I was in the passenger seat vacuming.

Look at Leatherique.com. They hav stuff to fill cracks, etc. And the rejuvinating oil really softens the leather. But it is expensive.
