I just got my car back from shop this week. Among the items done were new motor mount, oil pan gasket replacement and camsaft seal replaced. Took car out for 10-15 min drive and found a pool of oil under car later. Source of oil appears to be on driver's side of the motor just above dipstick slide in (3/4 cylinder area). I can't really see much due to the intake manifold, but is there not a gasket to the balance shaft in this location? If so, how much of pain is this to replace? Any other ideas on the source of the leak?
Thanks

could be the balance shaft cover. Cost is low. All you need is some sealant goop and 1 o-ring.
It does take some time to fix as the intake manifold must come off to acces the cover. You also must pull the front cover the upper balance shaft too.

Also might be the oil fill canister. There are 2 o-rings for it too.
It IS hard to tell which area is leaking and im my case, I had leaks from both of these places (oil fill canister and the rear cap o-ring of upper balance shaft). One indication of the rear cap o-ring failing is that the cap (about the size of a quarter) will be loose....Bruce
