It really caught my eye, as well as the judges- it won a trophy without the interior finished!
No doubt he has over 30K invested so far.

Yeah, that's just crzy talk. I am certainly not one to cast stones at those who pour lots of cash into cars that will ultimately have a low resale value, but come on! ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The real 930 that Ken Farler is selling is immaculate, and Ken only wants $23K OBO, and it only has 46 or 47K original miles on it. PS: If anyone is interested in a 930, let me know, I can give you Ken's contact info.

i heard. and he's dreaming. for that money you could either buy a concourse condition 912, a very very very nice sc, a carrera, a very nice early 911s (which are starting to really go up in value) or youre starting to get into 930 country (if you add another 5k).
and that vw motor would only beat a 912 motor (if its hopped up that is, which i at least hope he would spend the money to do if he went that far.. if its not hopped up it wouldnt beat a yugo)
maybe i just need to come back down to earth and just say good for him, he made him self a good lookin car, and applaud him for doing somthing that he likes, instead of being a hard *** about it.
sorry been up writing all night after i got home from work. im 27 pages into that story ive been meaning to write about last years adventure west. i think i went a little over board for an article for a the 912 registry's magazine. (actually over board is an understatement).. which reminds me, i need to talk to udpride when im done with it..

well in all fairness it IS possable to put a vw 911 fan kit on a 912. ive seen it done ONCE on a 356 engine. but only once. its far and few between to see them like that. there are a few tweeks that have to be made to make it work.. but its doable. that being said.. im 99% sure its a type 1. could be a type 4 with a 911 fan kit... but i believe the fan would sit lower like a 911 as it is a 'pancake' engine, where as the type 1 sits higher

It does have a Type 1 motor. It's a 1776cc with a fiberglass 911 style fan shroud. There's a company in California that makes the fan kits. I was going to get one for my VW but they are very pricey. Efficient, but pricey.
It's an ok car but if I had to spend 25K at that show I could have bought:
1. John Kuhns twin turbo 928 for $15K
2. Ken Farler's 1979 930 for $23K
3. A 1961 356 for $15K
Any of those would be a better deal than a one off 912.
