I dont know what hes thinking but hes looking into a e36 M3!! Those are nice cars but they do not match a 951 in any way. Do you remember the post I made for the guards red cars to post pics...yeah well that was for my friend and apparently...it didnt work. I dont know what to do. I know fo sho that he will regret buying it. He just doesnt have patience to wait for a 951...I need suggestions to give him to steer clear of those. Hes pretty young so insurance will be killer....any others...

Hehe, well he is looking into one with about 90k on it. I havent seen those in high miles much...im a little afraid for him. But he will make his decision. I hope he decides on boost... we shall see. I soon get the car from Cali that is shipping...explained on another thread...but it has all been sorted out and i get the car thurs or so they say...we shall see about that too. Anyways, he could choose from the e36 M3 with 90k on it..white/beige with clear corners in front and spoiler...or a guards 951 with 60k on the engine and all new suspension, LSD full inspection of everything!! What should he do? I am pretty positive he is a nut for speed even though he sometimes says he isnt. Ideas?

Unmodded, the M3 has more HP, handles very well, has gobs more low end torque, and comes in a 4 door and much easier to work on. Everything under the hood is simple and accessible and a "normal" mechanic can work on it. I am not sure how the M3 "does not match the 951 in any way". Its newer, has more HP, torque, room, reliability, and its cheaper to maintain along with lots of vendors for parts. I love the 951 but I believe the M3 is a much more practical car and a blast to drive.

I've had my '97 M3 Sedan for 3 years this month (happy birthday sweety). 106,xxx on the clock and only once has she not gotten me to work when I needed her to. I bought the four door in Auto so anyone could drive it and I wouldn't want to screw with it. It worked! The M3s still bone stock, I needed something dependable (the 951 hasn't seen the road in these past 3 years, OK mostly my fault but still...). My M3 has been super cheap to maintain also... just depends on what type of owner (read: mechanic) he wants to be.

Much better for every day use. Wish I had bought two of them an E30 and an E36 instead of the 951. Hell for the amount of money the 951 has sucked up I could be driving a real clean 993.
BTW - if interested I have seen HoosierDaddys car and it is REAL nice. Cosmos Black and clean. Felt very strong.

I have been on my 951 for about 5 years now and even with my love for these cars I still find the E36 M3 to be quite attrative. As stated above for a daily drive the e36 M3 is the better choice, but then again when did we all start making logical decisions? We own sports cars so we can throw logic right out the window.

Matt's (Hoosier Daddy's) car is real nice. I'd buy it if I had some extra $$.
