Default Cooling Fan Resistor

I ran through the tests in the Clarkes Garage manual and it looks like i have a bad "slow speed resistor"
The manual says "Locate the slow speed fan resistors on the firewall behind the tachometer" as I have a RH drive car does anyone know if thiis resistor will be on the firewall on the LEFT of my car or will it still be behind the tacho on the RHS?
I would also appreciate a picture of this resistor so that I at least know what I'm looking for.

I always thought they are mounted directly on the fan motor at the harness connector. Can't see why they would locate a resistor in the instrument cluster, it's so far away from the sensor.

2Tight,
Once again thanks for your technical help & guidance. Once I saw the PET diagram I recalled seeing the resistor in my earlier searches.
It is (in my RHD car) under the dash just outboard of the glovebox refer attached pic.
I guess on a LHD car it would be behind the tacho as stated in the Clarkes garage manual.
Now all I need to know is how do I determine if mine is good or not. Any of you auto elec experts have any tips??????

Bump!
Anyone know how to test the Low Speed Fan resistor. Do I simply check the amount of resistance across the terminals??

Yes, measure the resistance across the resistor. It should be around 0.9 ohm. Value not critical. If it's bad, it will be infinite resistance.

I put a new half of fuse box in my 944 and ran new wires to one of my fans, amoung a few other componants that were on the same half of the original fuse box (the smaller fuse box). Anyway, can I put this resistor in line with my wiring. Right now my fan funs just as fast with the car running hot as when the car is off and cooling down to the thermal switch cut of temp. So it kind of sounds like my car is running after it is off. Also, until I changed put in a new alternator and battery, it would kill my batteries charge if I did a lot of stop and go driving in the summer; especially at the track.

thanks,
robin

I checked my slow speed resistor & it reads about 0.9 ohms. Is it possible that the wires are connected to the wrong terminals? Would this make any difference? ie can they be connected any way.
