where do you get fine grit sand paper 2000 to 10,000?

Most of the big auto chains will have it up to a little over 2000 grit which is probably as fine as you need on your car for color sanding. Just look in the Yellow Pages and make a few phone calls. After you do the wet sanding a fine cut rubbing compound, like made by 3M, will take you rest of the way there. Then hand glaze and wax.
If you are actually going to try to go up to 10,000 grit paper, actually I think that may be cloth if it is that fine, hobby supply stores carry that as model builders go crazy with obtaining mirror paint finishes.
Do a Google search on the web for plenty of articles on the tricks of "color sanding" which is just another name for wet sanding.
