Default Wiring Harness Q's

I'm looking for a cheap solution to getting rid of all the wires in my project pcar. I wish cheap wasn't a factor but for me it has to be. I was wondering if I could go through my wiring harness and remove the un needed wires. I'm just wanting to run the basics, engine, lights, guages, etc. I do have a lot of time on my hands, so time isn't a factor.

For something that bare-bones, I'd start anew with a Painless wiring harness and install it. It's by no means painless, talk to dmoffitt about that, but it gives you what you need with new wires, and it'll certainly be easier than trying to dissect the factory harness and only remove what you don't want.
