Default FIXED: no spark after hurricane??

Ok went out to start the car yesterday and I'm not getting any spark at the coil. Heres what I've checked:

- I have 12 Vdc at the coil
- coil posts/output ohm out correctly per clarks
- I pulled and reflowed the DME relay
- I got 12Vdc DME supply voltage at pins 18 and 35 (verifies half the DME relay)
- ignition is sending 12Vdc to to pin 4 when in the "on" position
- 45 psi on the fuel rail so the pump is getting power (verifies other half of the DME relay)

Sounds to me that the speed/reference sensors are not sending a signal to the DME or the DME is not sending an output for the coil to spark. I don't have a scope handy and would perfer not pulling the sensors just yet. Can the sensors be ohmed out at the DMEs harness? Can I ohm the DME output to the coil...which pins/what should I see? Any other suggestions on things I may have over looked?

Did you check the DME itself to make sure you didn't have a little battery tray leak that only showed up with the addition of 6" of rain. Just make sure its dry down there.

DME, KLR, and surrounding area all look dry now but thats not saying they didn't get wet. I pulled the DME and I'll open it up this evening. I've been wanting to inspect reflow the boards for a while...no time like the present.

My speed and ref sensor contacts (blades in the termination) are pretty corroded, I'll brass brush those also.

Finally got a chance to work on the car today, seems issue was just coincidental w/ the hurricane. Coil was dead, replaced it w/ an MSD Blaster 2 (couldn't find a Bosch locally) and fired up on the 1st crank. I cleaned up all of the connections in the ignition circuit and did a ghetto rebuild of the DME. Thanks for everyone who offered advise in this post and the tons of post I researched.

Chris,
I read a bunch of your posts on replacing the coil and mine was similar to yours...my coil ohmed out at nominal values post to post/post to output. I only replaced it after manually firing the coil and seeing an intermittent output. Viola fixed.

Viola? Is that what you call your car?

odd.

Just for the heck of it, put the old coil back and see if it still runs.

HA! no my car isn't named viola..."viola" is an idiom/word (bare w/ me I'm winging this....I'm definately not an english scholar) used for "all of a sudden". Silly expression I guess.

I swapped the old coil back in for a sanity check and it's definately the culprit.

You mean the French term "voilà," pronounced "vuahlah."

I spent 2 misersable weeks in Springfield Il in February (like 20 degrees, occasional snow.) diagnosing mine when it died... and finally had it towed to my wrench. It was a coil. I tested the bastard twice. I was also running Bosch Plats, and switched back to copper ever since my wrench recommended it...

been fine ever since. even in very wet and snowy conditions. yeah I paid for the diagnosis.

which reminds me I gotta do spark plugs soon.

Whose got a good price on some plug wires btw?
