BloodRaven:

I'd do a tad more checking before I replaced the starter. For example, did you put 12 volts directly to the solenoid? If you do this and the engine turns over, then chances are the ignition switch is the culprit and not the starter.

And as a side note, if you do go this direction I can spray the phone dials in your choice of colors.

Graphite, Silver, or Black, on your car the graphite might look mean.

Just let me know what you want to do, I am available next weekend if you wanted to get it done.

Pull the starter and get it checked first. It would suck if you replaced a good starter.
It comes out easy, 2 cables and 2 bolts. Don't forget to disconnect the battery first!

I'm a bit confused, but... When I was looking for starters, I could find plenty on eBay for under 30 bucks. Now I know you are stretched for money.. But 6 months?

I'm really not saying it like an ***, but I think you mightve got some bad quotes. Any local junkyards? go there and pick one up for like 25 bucks, and use it till that one dies.

Are you electrically/mechanically inclined? If your take the starter off... and take off the screws on teh cap.. and pull the cap off... i bet your problem is the wire going into the side of teh casing. That wire frayed and eventually broke in two just inside the cap. My dad soldered it for me and it's been good for the last 2 months.

uhmm, I am pretty much mechanically challenged, so, yeah. I have no way to test these things truthfullly...as far as teh six month thing goes, all I saw were prices for around 150-200 dollars, and that takes some time for me to get...but the 70 dollar one from that one website sure is good, so I may do that, but I will also check the rest of the stuff when it isn't pouring down rain....

Take it to Autozone. They can test it for you.
