Thanks all- I never though about it letting go on the road, I'll make sure to secure it better than just tape. I'd hate to be the cause of someone else's damage or injury.

I'll probably end up replacing both, the bolts are getting rusty and the 2 sheared off after a few repeated nudges here and there.. So.. It'll be time for new parts.

Aren't the 924s bumper pads different part numbers than the 944 bumper pads (at least on the rear)?

My notes from when I bought mine (used):

> Porsche part numbers:
>
> 477 807 157 (Left)
> 477 807 158 (Right)
>
> Supposedly any 924/S/Turbo from 77-88 uses the same part for these rear
bumper pads. This is _not_ the same part as a 944.

Unless you can access a welder- the pads are burnt toast. Even a portable wire-feed MIG welder can re-stud the broken and rusted pieces again for re-installation.

Chris, you can have both of the ones off my old bumper if they work. Free of charge, you just have to come and get them. We can try to fit them up here.

Steph- I need to get up there , if you have them in good shape I'll take them as well. Maybe the fronts too- tyhe 924S I'm looking at needs the fronts. Unless you are willing to ship the whole kit and caboodle.

Thanks Pete, but the 944's are different, they have a notch on the outside for the body color urethane piece that fits over the bumper- the 924's is one solid piece that conforms to the bumper..
