i thought on the na and turbo, the speed sensor did count the ring gear's teeth. that's why it's farther back on the bellhousing. it uses them for rpm, and the reference sensor checks the allen bolt for timing pulse. on the s2, the teeth are on the flywheel and so there's only one sensor necessary.

just to illustrate, check the last pic on this page:



if you look at how much farther back the speed sensor is than the reference sensor, i don't see how it could be counting anything but ring gear teeth. it's too far back to be sensing anything from the flywheel

Putting either NA or Turbo clutch on NA or Turbo cars will work. You gotta take the bellhousing with it too. The difference of 2 teeth only throws off the ignition timing by about 0.5 degrees anyway. Fuel's not too far off. While I've custom-programmed NA chips to use 132-teeth count when using a Turbo clutch, it also works with the stock chip as well... Wonder know I know that...
