Now the dumb questions, Where's the check valve located?

Sorry I'm at work, I can't take a screen shot of my PET to show you where its at. But maybe someone else reading this can find a good schematic or blow up diagram to attach here.

It is right in front of the fuel pump. Haven't seen it on my car yet just in a diagram. Was told an easy way to diagnose if it is actually the fuel pump check valve that is causing the problem. The way it was explained to me is that the check valves a ne way valve that stops the gas from returning back into the tank. If the check valve is bad when the car sits for a long period of time the gas seeps back into the gas tank. The excessive cranking happens because it is taking a long time for the gas to get to the injectors, once there is starts no problem.

To check this I was told that at night I should clamp off the gas line where it comes out of the gas tank which will stop the gas from re-entering the tank. In the morning take the clamp off and start the car. If it starts right up then it the check valve and that needs to be replaced. Think I saw it for about 13 bucks.

Somebody else said it could be the head gasket however, a mechanic said that if it was the head gasket the car would run worse once it warmed up. Not the case in my situation.

Thanks for the response, I'll try it and hopefully it is my problem.
