Default Sunroof Quagmire - Who can simplify?

Or, is it virtually impossible to address this ongoing thread ? My previous two P-Cars had perfectly operating roofs. Now, the project baby is wailing to get this fixed...and I cannot boost the car- because the roof will take off like a flying wing- straight into an unsuspecting car, behind me. Bad ju-ju.....I fear. Now, if anybody knows this creature comfort intimately, please chime in...and smack that GONG for us- because I read almost every post pertaining to the 944/951 and I'm still in a deep fog. How-to pix can get us scrambling for the tools to do this .....but, without a layman approach to systematically growing Horns...we are lost like lambs.

Diagrams, photos, and a simple commentary is all I need for a finished vehicle.....

What are you trying to do?

What is the problem with the sunroof?

If you are trying to lock in place or remove it, both can be done manually.

Peel back the carpet on the drivers side rear quarter panel. There you will find the sunroof motor / assembly.

Look right inside of the gear mechanism. There is a slot to put a flat blade screwdriver into. Insert screwdriver and turn. One way will raise the roof, the other way will lower it and retract the lifting arms so you can remove the roof.

I have a picture around somewhere, or can shoot you another one if you can't find what I am talking about.
